Very adaptable plant, occuring in a variety of landscapes. Prefers some soil moisture and will become competitive in moist, shady environments. Yellow flowers attract sweat bees, beneficial wasps and syrphid flies.

  • Direct sowing: Best sown in fall or spring. Usually, our fall weather is not warm enough to trigger germination so if sown in the fall, the seeds will typically not germinate until the soil warms up in the spring. 

  • Growing transplants: Seeds do not exhibit dormancy but germinate best in warm temperatures (70- 80 degrees).
